Cutting The Cord

Having been without cable or satellite for over a year now I am sharing some of my learnings and technology that have made it possible along with a place to update extending my current sources.

 

Why did we make the switch?

Well it started because we had just moved and did not want to commit to a contract with the local provider but after some reflection we realized that we really only watched certain shows and never live so we wondered if we could make it work for less than the $100+ monthly bill we were paying before. Between free content and relatively cheap pay to play content we found ourselves saving money hand over foot.

 

What would/will we do different?

Right now our only gap is local programming. Living around unpredictable weather we really want to figure out what the best (and cheapest) way to incorporate free OTA programming into our setup. Hopefully some write ups coming soon on this.
